Focaccia
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups warm (110 °F) water
- 1/2 tbsp yeast
- 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 cups flour
- Brine (1/3 cup water and 1/2 tbsp salt)
- 1/8 cup olive oil
Directions
- Combine warm water, yeast, sugar and salt in a warm mixing bowl
- Cover and leave in a warm place for at least 20 minutes
- Add 1/4 cup olive oil to the mixture and grdually add flour until kneadable
- Knead dough until smooth
- Coat dough in olive oil and put back in the bowl
- Cover bowl with food wrap and place bowl in a warm place for 2 hours
- Spread out dough on baking pan
- Make indentations in the dough with your fingers
- Then pour brine and 1/8 cup olive oil over the surface of the dough
- Cover and leave in a warm place for 1 hour
- Bake at 400 °F for 18 minutes, or until brown
